Importance of Perfumes And Cologne

Perfume and cologne have made a great impact in the cosmetic market. Long before, usage of perfume was only limited to women but things have changed and men also woke up to the fragrances of perfume and cologne. There are quite a lot of perfume and cologne varieties for the men to choose from. These products very well marketed so that the products can reach wider section of prospects.

Preparations of perfume is not a new thing. Even in the ancient times, people used different ways to create perfume. Perfume is a word that has been derived from a Latin word ‘per fumum.’ This Latin word means ‘through smoke.’ Earlier, a pleasant smelling smoke was used to provide sweet fragrance in the body.

Perfume and cologne are produced by mixing varied essential oils, solvents, fragrance compounds, fixatives, etc. The elements are mixed immaculately to provide with pleasant fragrance. There are different varieties of scents in the perfumes. This is because different aromatic compounds is mixed in a solvent to present dissimilar scents. The combination of essential oils and aromatic compounds are not same for every perfume and cologne and hence there are different uniqueness and distinct appeal in different perfumes.

Different brands come with certain uniqueness in the content but there are few common ingredients. Perfume oil must be diluted with a solvent otherwise these oils can cause skin irritation on wearing. Perfume oils include chemical components that can be harsh on skin as well as cloths and hence these oils should not be applied directly. Also the odor of raw perfume oil is so strong that it better not to apply directly. Thus, some perfume companies mix perfume oil with coconut oil or jojoba oil.

Perfume can be applied in three sets for better results. These three stages of wearing men’s perfume is the basic stage, the middle stage and the top stage. Top coat makes immediate impression on the nearby persons. The middle coat works more as a stabilizer of the perfume but the third coat is important to prevent perfume’s evaporation from the body. If the perfume or cologne is used properly, it can provide the fresh feeling all day long.

Cologne is a perfect example of masculine fragrance. Cologne is also known as Eau de Cologne and it originated in Cologne Germany. Cologne is prepared by mixing varied essential oils with dilute ethanol. Some of the common essential oils used in cologne are cologne are tangerine, lemon, orange, lavender oils, bergamot, neroli, jasmine, rosemary, thyme, and petitgrain.

The fragrance of perfume and cologne has various significance. If you are wearing a cologne or perfume you will feel good and feel confidant. Perfume and cologne also increases enthusiasm, excitement, affection and love. Most importantly, it builds up personality of the person who is wearing perfume or cologne.
